The program is made to reach immigrants of French-speaking background in order to maintain and augment the knowledge and understanding of the French language. Thanks to the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance and the Haitian Cultural Center, we are able to develop our program for free to your children. We have had great success in the past with this Program. Our program schedules are on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Our classes begin in September and ends in May. Our summer programs usually run from June - July. Please contact our program coordinator for more info at firstname.lastname@example.org. Download our Flyer and Membeship Form
Our objective is to teach our students as much as we can. Please practice with your child as much as possible at home whether you are a French speaker or not! We would like you to ask your kids questions about what they are learning. We also would like you to enforce them the importance of learning another language.
We teach through different styles such as songs, gestures, videos, field trips, instructions role-playing, reading, and writing. The students also learn by creating their own crafts about the lesson.
We use a cultural curriculum therefore our lessons include: the alphabet, the colors, how to say the date, how to greet, members of the family, fruits and vegetables, common animals, making small conversation, favorite hobbies, and many more topics. We also extend our classroom to outdoor field trips , visit to museums and special sites for hands on French language experience!
